Tech Sonic Services started with the simple vision of adapting proven ultrasonic technology to much larger industrial scale. The result: revolutionary cleaning solutions, faster and far superior to conventional methods like steam, high-pressure washing or sand-blasting.

Our ultrasonic cleaning tanks – which are among the largest in the world – quickly and efficiently remove tar, bitumen, grease and calcium deposits off equipment including:

  • main drive pumps
  • main vacuum pumps
  • exchangers, and
  • engine parts

Metal equipment of almost any size can be immersed in our tanks. Contaminants are quickly and effectively removed; critical equipment continues to function; production does not unexpectedly stop.

How it works – Our tanks convert electrical energy to mechanical energy, via the piezoelectric effect, using ceramic transducers. The transducers vibrate, causing positive and negative pressure waves. Cavitation bubbles form on, and often inside, the object being cleaned. When these bubbles burst, they generate pressures up to 10,000 PSI and temperatures up to 10,000° F. This effectively separates the contaminant from the surface without damaging the component.



Applications – Tech Sonic Services provides on-site ultrasonic cleaning services for large scale operations including oil sands plants. Typically our staff maintains and operates the tanks using QA/QC analysis. We provide clients with cost, time trending data as well as detailed production summaries.

Tech Sonic Services also rents and sells multi-use tanks, between 3 and 125 cubic feet, for smaller operations. Tech Sonics will operate the tanks, or provide training in their safe use. We will also arrange for related chemical disposal.
